About Rick Levinson, LCSW

 

Rick Levinson is a clinical social worker with over 25 years of experience working with adults, children, couples and families.

After completing a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from UT-Austin, Rick received a master’s in Social Work at the University of Kansas. He was then selected for a two-year fellowship in child psychiatry at UTMB-Galveston. 

Returning to Austin, he ran an inpatient unit in a psychiatric hospital for three years. He began his private practice in 1986.

Over the course of his career, Rick has primarily specialized in working with trauma and with serious illness.  He has incorporated a range of treatment models in his practice and has used EMDR since 1996.  He became an EMDRIA-approved trainer in 2005.
